Looking back at the beginning of summer this is where we started…

IMG_5161 IMG_5162 IMG_5163Looking back at the end of the school year,  the seeds and plant starts were carefully planted by the students at Shepardson.  With loads of care by our volunteer families the garden is growing and thriving.  I’m guessing the veggies are preparing for the kids to return so they can show off their vibrant color, smell and flavor.  Stay tuned and in the next few days I will be posting some pictures to show you the current look of our Shepardson garden…

Shepardson Students Celebrate Garden Day

This week Shepardson students will be making a special trip out to the garden to create some art work with Allison Straubing and Heidi Priebe.   The final project will be used for an Original Works fundraiser that will benefit the garden maintenance cost. Sales of the personalized art  products will be available for purchase in the spring.  The students will also sample a healthy garden treat and learn about “Jackie” the pumpkin that will be visiting the classrooms during the month of October.
