Pumpkins and Beans Oh my!!!

Kindergarten classes have a fun time planting their Pumpkin Patch and Jack’s Beanstalk garden.   The students got first hand knowledge of the three important elements to growing a happy plant…soil, water and sun.  Best of all they got permission to play in the dirt and water!  What fun it will be to watch the seeds emerge!

Garden Fundraiser a Great Success

Thanks to all the families who came out to support our garden day fundraiser and social, because of your support we raised nearly $2000 to put toward  the purchase of tables for our outdoor classroom.

The students enjoyed making Lavender Bath Salts for Mother’s Day gifts, completing a garden Scavenger Hunt and painting Wooden Flowers that will  be hung on our garden fence in honor of  Mrs. Brown.   Our garden friend Jessica Milstein, a Junior at CSU and National Collegiate Agriculture Ambassador  shared her time and expertise with the students by showing them how to make a Garden in a Glove.  Thanks again for all who purchased flowers and attended the event.

STEM’s of Learning Garden Fundraiser and Social

Friday, May 10 is our Garden Day Fundraiser and Social at Shepardson. Please join us after school from 3:30-5:00 for some garden activities. We will be selling Mother’s Day plants and Gulleys Gift cards. The gift cards are in fifteen dollar increments and Gulleys has generously offered to donate twenty percent of the proceeds. For those that ordered hanging baskets, herbs and succulents dishes, they will be ready for pick up as well. We will also have Popsicles for sale, so don’t forget your money and come join the fun! All students need to be accompanied by an adult. In the event of inclement weather the event will be cancelled, but all orders will still be available for pick up. We hope to see you after school!
